James “Jimmy” Andrus, 77, passed away on June 3, 2018 to receive his heavenly reward.
Mr. Andrus was born on October, 4, 1940 in DeQuincy, LA to George and Maxine Royer Andrus. He served for 41 years in the Calcasieu Parish Clerk of Court’s office, including 14 years of elected service as the Calcasieu Parish Clerk of Court. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, cutting grass, and telling stories. There is no doubt that wherever he went, he found a familiar face to talk to. He loved to share his testimony of being struck by lightning in 1974 and how God miraculously healed him and restored his health. He loved his children and adored his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Andrus; children, Michael Andrus (Ellen) of Houston, TX and Trena Stevison (Patrick) of Lake Charles, LA; grandchildren, Alexis, Andrea, Christian, Cody, and Alex; mother, Maxine Royer Andrus; sister, Jan Verdine (Marlan); of Orangefield, TX.
He was preceded in death by his father, George F. Andrus.
His funeral service will be held at First Pentecostal Church of Lake Charles on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 11 AM. Pastor Jeffrey Ralston will officiate. Burial will take place following the service in Old Ritchie Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 4 PM until 8 PM and will resume on Friday from 10 AM until 11 AM.
