James "J.P." Potts, 62, of Lake Charles, passed away suddenly on Tuesday September 10, 2024 at a local hospital.
J.P. was a native and longtime resident of Clarksville, Tennessee. He moved his family to Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana thirty years ago to further his career as the manager of Rent-A Center. He also worked as a merchandising and marketing specialist prior to his retirement.

He will be most remembered for his loving heart and kindness towards others. He was an active member of Glad Tidings Church, where he volunteered in the Food Pantry Ministry as well as with the Youth Ministry.
