James Kenneth Kleven

James Kenneth Kleven 67, of Westlake , LA was called to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 31, 2021.

James was one of four children born to Kenneth Robert and Verma Jean Kleven, he was born in Lake Charles, LA on December 13, 1953.

He attended Welsh High School where he enjoyed playing basketball until graduation in 1973.  He was strong in his faith, a longtime member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church. He was a proud father to his children; coaching his children's T-Ball teams, taking them fishing and playing basketball with them.

He was welcomed into Heaven by his son Brent Joshua Kleven and his parents.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children; Brandon (Tanya) Kleven, Jason (Erica) Kleven, and Kelly (Josh) Gorham; his grandchildren, Danika, Ava, McKenna, Emma, Owen, and Noah; his siblings, Kurt (Judy) Kleven of Westlake, Kaye Avery of Westlake, and Keith (Genia) Kleven of Florien, along with numerous extended family.

The family will welcome friends on Monday, February 8, 2021 beginning at 5pm to 8pm at University Baptist Church 4505 Lake St. Lake Charles LA 70605. A rosary to be prayed at 6pm. Visitation to resume Tuesday at 9am. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10am at St. John Bosco Catholic Church of Westlake led by Father Mike Barras. He will be laid to rest at LeBleu Cemetery in Fenton, LA.
