James Michael Guillet

James Michael Guillet, 61, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 16, 2015 in his residence. Mr. Guillet was born January 9, 1954 in Lafayette, LA, where he was raised and attended Lafayette High School. He was raised in the Catholic faith and was a Boy Scout during his earlier years. He worked as an operator at PPG for thirty-seven years, retiring 3 years ago. He was a steward for the union while working for PPG. He was also a member of the Lake Charles Gun Club, the NRA, and Ducks Unlimited. Mr. Guillet was an avid outdoorsman who loved his family dearly. He was a jack-of-all-trades with a great sense of humor. He was also a devoted father, son, brother, and grandfather with a big heart who always wanted to help others. Mr. Guillet is survived by his son, James Russell Guillet and wife Jessica of Middleburg, FL; daughter, Jennifer Bradley of Sulphur, LA; siblings, John Shelton Guillet, Jr., Patricia Morgan, Mary Elizabeth Guillet, Thomas Allen Guillet (Carthy), Carolyn Broussard (Tommy), David Wayne Guillet, Ruth Casey (Tim), and Robert Stephen Guillet (Stacey); grandchildren, Sarah Bradley, Cora Bradley, and James Matthew Guillet; one grandchild on-the-way, Kaylin Grace Kelley; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Patricia and John Guillet, Sr. His memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Chris Gregory will officiate. A gathering of family members and friends will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 11:00 AM until the start of the service, with a rosary at 2:00 PM.
