James Michael Mcniel

January 16, 1965 — March 5, 2017

James Michael (Mike or Mac) McNiel, 52, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017 in a Lafayette hospital.

He is preceded in death by his step-father, Wesley Schnell; father, James McNiel; grandparents; JW and Annabelle Schlicher, Oliver and Ruth McNiel; and aunt, Freida Garrison

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Cherie` Jean Schlicher Schnell; sister, Pamela McNiel Fontenot; nephew, Kirk Fontenot; niece, Maegan Fontenot; great nieces and nephews, Baylee, Bentley, Blaydon, and David; numerous aunts and uncles; a host of cousins; and special friend Meredith Mason, whom Mike loved so dearly.

A Memorial service honoring Mike’s life will be held at 2pm Monday, March 13, 2017 in Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow in Mimosa Pines Cemetery of Carlyss. The family will receive friends from 11 am - 2pm.
