James "Doug" Douglas Richey

James “Doug” Richey ,76, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024, surrounded by a loving family. Doug was born August 9, 1948, to Bobbie Louise Taylor and James Wallace Richey.

James “Doug” graduated from Lagrange High School where he met Sherry. He graduated from McNeese University with a bachelor’s degree in environmental science. Doug proudly served in the Air Force for four years working as a Radar Tech. He retired from LyondellBasell after many years of being a lab technician. James “Doug” also enjoyed gardening, deer hunting, and the outdoors.

Those left to cherish his memories are wife of 51 years Sherry Elaine Richey; son, James “Britt” Richey; grandchildren, Addison Kate Richey and Abigail Rose Richey; sisters, Patricia Wimberly and Paula McDonald (Charlie) ; brother, Matthew Richey (Annette)

Those that proceed him in death are parents and sister, Anna Kewin (Jim)

A gathering of friends and family will be Sunday September 15, 2024, in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home beginning at 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Inurnment and military honors services will be held at Jennings Veteran Cemetery on Tuesday September 17 at 1:30pm. Friends and family are able to line up 15 minutes prior to the service.
