James Roy Ducote, 54, of Hackberry passed away on June 11, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. James was a graduate of Hackberry High School. He worked for Cheniere Energy in public and government relations and most recently as a safety coordinator. He loved his "Cheniere Team". James was an outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He spent countless hours at "the weir" with his family. His life centered around his Lord, Jesus Christ. He was a Christian mentor and a faithful witness. James loved his nine children and was a father figure to countless others. James put forth a valiant effort in his fight against cancer. James is survived by his wife, Leesa Ducote; 6 sons, Gregory, Jason and wife, Magen, Thomas, Samuel, Mitchel and Benjamin Ducote; 2 daughters, Alana Beth and Natasha Ducote and fiancé, Jacob Meche; 6 sisters, Dianne Hantz and husband, Joe, Evelyn Backlund and husband, Michael, Elizabeth Vaughan and husband, David, Michelle Ledet and husband, Walter, Rachael LeBleu and husband, Ferrall, Becky Dees and husband, Clark and; 4 grandchildren, Hayden Austin, Jensen Ducote, Emily and Allie Calhoun; and parents, Kenneth and Lillie Mae Ducote. He was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Roy Ducote. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Life Church in Sulphur with Rev. Bobby Taylor officiating. Burial will be in New Hackberry Cemetery in Hackberry under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 13, 2014 from 12-9 p.m. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home and will resume on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of the service.
