James "Skipper" Carnahan

April 1, 1948 — August 31, 2016

 James “Skipper” Carnahan, 68, of Sulphur passed away on August 31, 2016 in a local hospital. Skipper was a lifelong resident of Sulphur and an Air Force Veteran. He loved to visit all over town and sit with his wife, Mary Ann to watch their son, Will compete in different sports. Skipper was a lifelong member of Henning Memorial United Methodist Church and especially enjoyed attending church and church activities.

Skipper is survived by his mother, Marion, of Phoenix, AZ; his wife, Mary Ann; his son William; and cousins, Penny and Steve Carnahan all of Sulphur. He was preceded in death by his father, W.G. Carnahan, Jr.; his brother, W. G. “Billy” Carnahan III; paternal grandparents, W.G. Carnahan, Sr. and wife Laura; maternal grandparents, Frank Duguay; originally of New Brunswick, Canada and wife, Ruth Drumfield Duguay, all of whom were born or worked at the old Sulphur Mines.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 10 A.M. at Henning Memorial United Methodist Church in Sulphur with Rev. Ellen Alston officiating.
