James Stanley Arnaud

James Stanley Arnaud, affectionately know as "Poppa", 81 of Lake Charles died Wednesday, November 23, 2011 in a local hospital.

Mr. Arnaud was born and raised in Crowley, LA. He was a graduate of Crowley High School and in 1948 was named Louisiana Allstate Football Player. He served the United States Army National Guard during high school, one year with the United States Marine Corps and four years with the United States Air Force. Mr. Arnaud retired after thirty-eight years of service as a Toll Testman for Bell South.

Mr. Arnaud was an avid golfer and LSU fan, he enjoyed playing Boure'e with his buddies and meeting his friends every morning for coffee at McDonalds. He attended Daily Mass at St. Margaret Catholic Church where he was also a gift bearer every Sunday for 10:00 Mass.

Mr. Arnaud will be most remembered for "having never met a stranger and his witty sense of humor".

He leaves to honor his memory, his loving wife of fifty-six years, Norma Jean Armentor Arnaud of Lake Charles; six children, Ann Leger and husband Herman, Perky Janese and husband Johnny and Susie Landry and husband Tommy, all of Lake Charles; Tim Arnaud and wife Debbie of Reno, NV and Todd Arnaud and wife Leah and Kelly Meche and husband Marty, of Lake Charles; twenty grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Arnaud and wife JoAnne of Crowley and Shelby Arnaud and wife Jeanette of Mire, LA and one sister, Bonnie Broussard and husband Allen of Rensaelear, IN.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, November 26, 2011 at St. Margaret Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Reverends Bill Miller and Keith Pellerin will officiate. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation Friday will be from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a scripture service and rosary beginning at 6:00 PM. Visitation Saturday will be from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM in the funeral home.
