James Stephen Knauf

James “Jimmy” Stephen Knauf, 58 of Maurice, LA died Wednesday, September 1, 2021 in an Abbeville hospital.

Jimmy was a simple man and lived a simple life. He loved the New Orleans Saints and the LSU Tigers and watching football was one of his favorite things to do; other than watching NASCAR.  He was a great fisherman, by his own account, and could spend hours upon hours with a rod and reel in his hands. Jimmy was a carpenter by trade. His passion was being around friends that felt like family, and he had quite a big family of friends.

Jimmy had a caring heart, as he has been known to sit with a few friends during the end days of their life. We truly wish he could have been given the same, but unfortunately, due to COVID, that was taken away from him.  Jimmy will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Jessica Sellers of Charlotte, NC; his grandchildren, James Sellers, and Thomas Sellers; sister, Sharon Harrell of Maurice; brother, Robert “Bobby” Knauf and wife Donna of League City, TX; brother Christopher Knauf of Maurice; sisters-in-law, Paula Knauf and Terry Knauf; nephews, James Harrell, Timothy Harrell, Michael Harrell, and Kevin Harrell; nieces, Adrienne Harrell and Robyn Schoonover; and 16 great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Knauf Sr. and Loretta Cleveland; and brothers, Joseph Knauf and Ralph Knauf Jr.
