James Terry Misner, 61, of Lake Charles, LA died at 5:25 PM on Monday, December 2, 2013 at a local hospital. Terry was born September 13, 1952 in Marksville, LA, was a 1970 graduate of LaGrange Senior High, and a graduate of McNeese State University, with his degree in Forestry. He was raised a member of the Catholic Faith. He worked as manager of Burger King, Pizza Hut and Mr. Gatti's Pizza for twenty years. Terry also worked at Boys' and Girls' Village for three years before his retirement in 2008. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being outdoors. He was an avid football fan and loved the Saints, McNeese and LSU. Terry enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter. His playful and joking personality will be greatly missed. Terry is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Phyllis Montalbano Misner; daughters, Erin Misner and fiancé, Stewart Dartez, all of Lake Charles, LA and Megan Misner and fiancé Eric Walden of Waymart, PA; mother, Mary Faye Misner of Lake Charles; sister, Marsha Misner of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Mackenzie Dartez, and Skyler and Danner Dartez; aunt, Helen Dupuy of Marksville, LA; cousins, Dee Brouillette, David Dupuy, and Dr. Mike (Laurie) Kent; sister-in-law, June Montalbano; and brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Marianne Montalbano. He was preceded in death by his father, James F. Misner; and parents-in-law, Joseph Montalbano and Margaret Nicholas Montalbano. His memorial service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 6, 2013 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
