James Wayne Lodus Miller, 77, died Sunday, August 9, 2015, in a local hospice facility. Born in Mauriceville, Texas to Daniel and Hazel Marie Peloquin Miller. Mr. Miller lived most of his life in Lake Charles. He was a graduate of Marion High School class of 1958 and served his country in the U. S. Army. He and his wife owned and operated M & M Lawn and Irrigation Service for more than thirty years. Mr. Miller was a faithful member of Westlake Church of God and was also a member of the Westlake Rotary Club. He was an avid offshore fisherman and participated in the Southwest Louisiana Fishing Rodeo for many years. He also enjoyed Westlake Ram football and was always cheering them to victory. Perhaps his greatest accomplishment was that of being a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He loved his family and they were always first and foremost in his life. Those left to cherish his memory are one son, Robert L. Miller and wife Aimee of Moss Bluff; two daughters, Melissa Ann Miller Seamons and husband Shanin, also of Moss Bluff and Penny Jane Miller of Galveston, Texas; and four grandchildren, Anna Grace Miller, Morgan Nicole Seamons, Lindsay Brooke Seamons and Dylan Cade Seamons. He was preceded in death by just six weeks by his beloved wife of forty-nine years, Eugenie Ann "Jeannie" Langford Miller. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, August 13, 2015, at Johnson Funeral Home. Reverend Tommy Dove and Reverend Ken Sifford will officiate. Burial will be at Westlake Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 until 8 P.M. and on Thursday from 8A.M. until service time. The family would like to express their grateful appreciation for the compassionate care given their beloved dad to Harbor Hospice.
