Jami Chantel Gobert

November 24, 1980 — June 12, 2024

Jamie Chantel Gobert, 43 passed away on June 12, 2024, at a local hospital. Even at a young age Jami was a very special child. She was the sparkle in her parents’ eyes.
She attended school at D.S. Perkins Elementary School until the 6th grade. From the 7th grade to the 12th grade Jami attended Hamilton Christian Academy until her graduation.
Her interests in life were in sports of various kinds. Jami had a passion for dancing, partying and modeling.
Jami was a shopping enthusiast, the queen of any mall. Her hobbies were traveling, taking an enormous amount of pictures making unforgettable memories. Jami had a great big heart, never meeting a stranger, and everyone who had the privilege of meeting Jami loved her.
Jami Chantel Gobert is survived by her loving parents, Johnnie and Anna Gobert; her only brother, Eric Jonathan (Kimberly) Gobert; two children, Jasmine Chantel Ellender and Andrew Scott Ellender; two nieces, Emery Rose Gobert and Khloe Ann Gobert (Jami was best known to them as “Mimi”); four uncles, Roger (Wanda) Gobert, Russell Gobert, Curtis (Evelyn) Gobert, and Paul Gobert; four aunts, Ruth Cohran, Gertie LeDee, Wonna Pettry and Amanda Griffin.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Anthony and Angelina Gobert, Jarvis R. and Dorothy Miller; her uncle Wilfred and Lorene Gobert; one aunt, Waki Labama.
Special thanks to the Memorial Hospital Trauma Unit, all the physicians, staff and all the kind nurses for their extraordinary care that was given to Jami, making sure to always acknowledge God in every treatment that was given to Jami, and the willingness to do everything possible to keep Jami Chantel alive. Special thanks to Johnson and Robison Funeral Home for the professional services they gave in helping us with the arrangements.
Funeral services for Jami will be at 2:30 PM, Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Johnson and Robison Funeral, Pastor Clay Fontenot will officiate. The family will welcome friends and family starting at 10 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow at Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly, La.
