Jamie Hightower

James “Jamie” Houison Hightower, 77, of Lake Charles, passed away suddenly on Thursday March 3, 2022, at his residence.

“Jamie” was born in New Orleans and was a life-long resident of Lake Charles. He was a 1962 graduate of Lake Charles High School. A long-time employee of Kroger, Jamie spent many hours working from customer service to Supervisor, position in which he retired. In his retirement, anything he did, he had to have flexible hours to be able to enjoy his favorite pass time of golf. He was well known to many that frequently played at Frash Golf Course.  

Jamie was a Christian by faith and had been a member of First Baptist of Lake Charles, Westwood Baptist in Westlake and most recently Trinity Baptist in Lake Charles.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Jefferson, and Alma Jewel Kuttner Hightower. He is survived by his sister, Julie H. Elliott, Lake Charles; nieces, Kelly Elliott Boudoin (Gil) and Katie Elliott Diamond (Brian); great nieces, Vicki Boudoin, Anna Boudoin and Laney Diamond; great nephew, Clark Diamond and great great nephew, Kohen Boudoin as well as numerous friends and family of the heart.

A gathering of family and friends will take place from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday March 7, 2022, at University Baptist Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  A private family interment will take place at a later date.
