Jane Alberta Rayon

Jane Alberta Bertrand Rayon, 74, of Lake Charles, LA died at 9:30 AM on Monday, October 31, 2011 in her residence.

Mrs. Rayon was born January 28, 1937 in Pine Island, LA and was a 1955 graduate of Elton High School, where she graduated with honors and attended McNeese State University. She retired from Louisiana Employment Services after twenty-five years of service and always supported her husband's business, Rayon's Wood Floors. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church and enjoyed knitting and reading. She will always be remembered as a good cook and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She always made Christmas a very special time of the year for all of her family.

Mrs. Rayon is survived by her husband of thirty-six years, Larry Rayon, Jr. of Lake Charles; children, Michael Joseph Miller, Sr. of Lake Charles, Lance Miller and wife Denise of Sulphur, LA, Randy Rayon and wife Karen and Angie Duhon and husband Gary, all of Lake Charles; sister, Ima Marie Rachel of Lake Charles; sister-in-law, Carol Rayon Daigle and husband Larry; grandchildren, Michael Paul Miller, Ashley Rayon, Elaina Navarre, Callie Stanley, Danielle Francis, Dustin Rayon, Devon Duhon, Michael Joseph Miller, Jr., Dylan Duhon, and Allie Miller; and great-grandchildren, Brooke Miller, Luke Miller, Taylor Miller, Kaylin Coker, Dylan Thomas Navarre, Klare Miller, AnnMarie Navarre, and one on-the-way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elza and Lena Bertrand and in-laws, Lula Rayon and Lawrence Rayon, Sr.

Her funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. Father Alan Trouille will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Wednesday from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM with a Cursillo rosary at 6:30 PM. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Thursday from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

Pallbearers for the service will be Gary Duhon, Dustin Rayon, Michael Paul Miller, Michael Joseph Miller, Jr., Devon Duhon, and Dylan Duhon. Honorary pallbearers will be Lance Miller, Michael Joseph Miller, Sr., Randy Rayon, and Charles Browne.
