Janet Lynn Manuel

Janet Lynn Soileau Manuel, 68, of Grand Lake, LA, died on Thursday, June 14, 2018 in her residence.

Mrs. Manuel was born February 26, 1950 in Lake Charles, LA, raised in the Lake Charles area and lived in Cameron Parish for a number of years before moving to Grand Lake after hurricane Rita. Mrs. Manuel enjoyed dancing to French music, was an avid reader and loved to play Bingo at the CCOA. She loved her family dearly and will always be remembered as an excellent cook and for her caring and giving nature.

Mrs. Manuel is survived by her husband of thirty-three years, Shon David Manuel, Sr.; children, Kenneth Whittington and wife Peggy, Anna Morvant and husband Mark, Phillip Whittington and wife April, Jared Whittington and Shon Manuel, Jr.; brothers, Lannis, Alan, Joe, Curtis, Robbie, and Joey Soileau; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Annie Mott Soileau; brothers, Robert Soileau and Timothy LeBleu; and sister, JoAnna Soileau.

Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Cheryl Powell will lead the service. Burial will follow in Sweetlake – Grand Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and continue on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.
