Janet Mhire

Janet Louise Whiteard Mhire, age 62, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 21, 2021, after a short battle with cancer.

She was a graduate of Westlake High School in 1976.  Janet’s talents were many, she loved to cook and craft and was a master at decorating Christmas trees.  She thoroughly enjoyed children and became a favorite neighborhood babysitter / nanny.  Janet’s greatest joy in life was family – her parents, grandparents, siblings, in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, children, and grandchildren.

Janet was preceded in her journey to heaven by her father, William J. “Dub” Whiteard, Jr.; mother, Mary Helen Pyle Whiteard; father-in-law, Robert E. Mhire; and brother-in-law, Anthony “PaZoo” Nunez.

Janet is survived by her children, Bobby Mhire (Erin Johnson), Alicia Mhire (Casey Budge), Danica Mhire, and Callie Mhire; siblings, Gregory Whiteard (Pam), Billy Whiteard (Carrie Zabihaylo), and Donna Whiteard Hudson (Clint); father of her children, Robby Mhire (Gwen Chapel); mother-in-law, Ruby Nunez Mhire; sisters-in-law, Mary Hebert (Brandon) and Janna Baccigalopi (Gary); grandchildren, Mason, Luke, Ella, Emma, and Kase Mhire, Averie McFarland, Elizabeth, Elyse and Ella Johnson, Colby and Shelby Budge; one great-granddaughter, Bryleigh; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff.  Father Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate.  Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery in Lacassine, LA.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service, with a rosary at 12:00 PM.
