Janice Dupont Leboeuf

Janice Dupont LeBoeuf, 61, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 14, 2023, surrounded by her loving family in Lake Charles, LA.

Janice was born on March 28, 1962, in Jennings, LA and was a native and life resident of Cameron Parish. She grew up in Cameron and raised her family in Grand Chenier. After her retirement in 2018, she moved to Lake Charles, LA.  She is a graduate of South Cameron High School and worked and retired after 34 years for the Cameron Parish Sheriff's Office. She served as the Warden of the Jail for 30 of those years. Janice had a passion for helping people through her law enforcement career. She served as a leader, mentor, and friend to many people she met throughout her life. Janice was a devout catholic and a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church of Creole, LA and later attended St. Margaret Catholic Church in Lake Charles and St. John Vianney in Bell City. 

Often, if Janice wasn’t roaming the roads with her sister Barbara or her friends, caring for her mother, then she was cooking in her kitchen. Janice spent her spare time and retirement working in her catering business, Southern >

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 43 years, Mark LeBoeuf, two sons: Chase LeBoeuf of Grand Lake, LA, and Chandler LeBoeuf (Brad) of New Orleans, LA. Grandson Cameron LeBoeuf and grandson at heart, Caleb Danos. Brother, Jim Paul Dupont (Juanita) of Grand Lake, LA, and sister, Barbara Dupont Wilkerson (Wendell) of Grand Lake, LA. She also loved and cherished her many nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, father; Darrell “Fats” Dupont, mother; Lucille “Ellen” Primeaux, sister; Joann Schneider, and father and mother in-law; Dorca William and Agnes “Mae” LeBoeuf. 

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Rosary service beginning at 6:00 PM Monday, July 17, 2023, in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home.  Visitation will resume at 8:30 AM Tuesday, July 18, 2023. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Monsignor James M. Gaddy will officiate. 

Pallbearers will be Trey Wilkerson, Jacob Wilkerson, Frank Schneider, Dusty Savoie, Scott Savoie, and Caleb Danos and honorary pallbearer, Cameron LeBoeuf.

Interment to follow at the Sweetlake – Grand Lake Community Cemetery.
