Janice Hinton

Janice Hinton, 75, passed away August 19, 2024, surrounded by family. She was born July 11, 1949, to John L. and Yvonne Maddox McDonald.

Janice graduated from McNeese State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and a Master’s Degree in Environmental Science. She worked at Entergy as an Environmental Specialist for over 20 years. Janice’s greatest joy was spending time with her granddaughter, Ella Claire, and her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 54 years, Richard Hinton, her daughter, Kym Hinton and her grand-daughter, Ella Claire Hinton all of Lake Charles. Other family members included are Morgan Rodgers of North Carolina, Blake Mudd (Stephen) of Houston, and her sole surviving sister Anita Platt of Houston.

She is welcomed into heaven by her parents, two brothers (William McDonald and Johnny McDonald), and two sisters (Linda Thibodeaux and Dianna Quibodeaux).

Services will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Saturday August 24, 2024, at 2:00pm. Visitation will begin at 12:00pm and continue until the time of service. The family has entrusted cremation arrangements to Johnson Funeral Home.
