Janis Ruth Bankester Warren, 59, of Lake Charles died Thursday, November 18, 2010 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Warren was born in Kinder, LA, raised and educated in Reeves, LA and has lived most of her life in Lake Charles. She was a graduate of Reeves High School and Kilgore College of Nursing where she attained an Associate Degree in Nursing. She worked as an RN for over twenty years, the past fifteen of those years being in the Rehab Unit of Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Warren enjoyed playing bingo and was a reading "fanatic". During her younger years she enjoyed hiking and camping. Her greatest times were spent with her children and grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, William Chase Loving of Lake Charles; one daughter, Adrianne Bria Griffin and husband Laine of Sulphur; three grandchildren, Ryken Loving, Brayden Griffin and Daphne Griffin; her parents, Walter and Dolores Bankester of LeBlanc, LA; four brothers, Travis Bankester of Ringold, OK, James Bankester of Waco, TX, Mark Bankester of Carrville, LA and Harry Bankester of Ragley; two sisters, Rita Byerly of Vidor, TX and Angela Barrett of Dry Creek and her oldest and dearest friend, Debby Jones of Benton, AR.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Terry Bankester and one sister, Iris Amy.
Funeral services will be at 4:00 PM Sunday, November 21, 2010 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Randall Chesson will officiate. Visitation Sunday will be from 2:00 PM until the time of service in the funeral home. Interment at a later date will be in LeBlanc Cemetery in LeBlanc, LA.
