Jared Young Todd

Jared Young Todd, 69, of Lake Charles, LA died Monday, May 30, 2016 in a local hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Jared was born on December 25, 1946 in Lake Charles, LA to Donald and Marie Todd. He enjoyed hunting and being in the great outdoors. Jared shared a lifelong love of being involved with the 4-H youth groups and contestants while showing of their livestock. He enjoyed being around family and friends and most of all his grandchildren. Jared was a member of Glad Tidings Church since 1982. Jared enjoyed growing up in Holmwood, LA. He worked beside his father and brothers farming rice on the family farm. Later in life Jared moved into the field of heavy equipment operation. He was blessed with the ability to learn and adapt to different work environments and positions the latest being with, with Louisiana Department of Forestry and Agriculture.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 52 years, Donna Todd of Lake Charles, LA; three children, Allison Todd Roy and husband Keith of Katy, TX, Jodie Todd of Lake Charles, LA, Aimee Todd Hamblen and husband Dave of Lake Charles, LA; five grandchildren, Abigail and Jake Roy of Katy, TX, Avery, Amelia, and Jackson Hamblen of Lake Charles, LA; loving dog, Sophie; two sisters, Ellienne Tate and Jane McFillen; one sister-in-law, Sarah Todd ;one brother- in- law, Jack Chelette and wife Wilda; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert Todd and Daryl Todd; and one grandchild, Devin Roy.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will resume from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Prien Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Gary Evers and Pastor Ray Hundley will officiate services.
