God has call one of his Angels home

SPC Jarred Michael Carriere, 27, of Lake Charles, LA died at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 5, 2013 at Fort Knox, KY.

SPC Carriere was born January 5, 1986 in Lake Charles, LA and was a 2004 graduate of South Beauregard High School. He served the past eight years in the U.S. Army, where he served in Operation Iraque Freedom from August 2006 to November 2007 and served in Operation Enduring Freedom from April 2009 to April 2010. His duty in the Army was as an Engineer Equipment and Repairman. He received numerous awards including Army Commendation Medal, 2, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Afghanistan Campaign medal with Bronze Service Star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, 2, Nato Medal, Driver and Mechanic Badge, Combat and Special Skill Badge Basic Marksmanship Qual Badge and Overseas Bar, 4. SPC Carriere was a highly motivated and passionate Soldier. His dedication and duty to his family were inspirational. His love for country and friends were a model for all of us to follow. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and loved electronics. He will always be remembered for his outgoing personality, his big heart, and could make everyone laugh. His presence will be missed by all the soldiers of the 19th Engineer Battalion.

SPC Carriere is survived by his parents, Ricky John Carriere and Deanna Marie Mobley Carriere; brother, John Carriere and Amanda Guillory of Carlyss; grandparents, Annette Mobley and James and Dorothy Pellerin, all of Lake Charles; uncles, Mark Mobley and Wilson Carriere; aunt, Melanie Mobley; nephew, Ethan Carriere; and all of his close friends of the 15th Engineer Company at Fort Knox.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, August 14, 2013 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Keith Pellerin will officiate. Interment will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday will be from 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a scripture service and rosary beginning at 6:30 PM. Visitation Wednesday will be from 8:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
