Jason Kent Fontenot

May 22, 1971 — December 30, 2017

Jason Kent Fontenot, 46, of Moss Bluff entered into Heaven Saturday, December 30, 2017.

 

Mr. Fontenot was born in Lake Charles, lived most of his life in Moss Bluff and was a graduate of Sam Houston High School. He worked his younger years in auto parts and marine repair and has worked the past two years in maintenance at St. Theodore Catholic Church. Jason was an avid outdoorsman, loved fishing and kayaking and was a member of Lake Charles Kayaking Club. He loved to cook. His greatest times were spent with his precious “Addie”, teaching her how to be a handyman and self sufficient. He was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church where he was an aide to 2nd grade CCD.

 

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of twenty-five years, Reneé Dupuis Fontenot and their daughter, Adeline Reneé Fontenot, of Moss Bluff; father, Kent Fontenot of Kinder; mother, Joyce Hebert Stewart of Moss Bluff; three sisters, Jessica Richard Widener and husband Zachary of Moss Bluff, Kimberly Diane Fontenot of Kinder and Nikki Fontenot Deacon and husband Dillon of LeBlanc; two brothers, Hershel Richard and wife Cindy of Moss Bluff and Jeff Bass and wife Pam of Kinder and many aunts, uncles and nieces and nephews; parents-in-law, Luther Ray and Helen Benoit Dupuis of Lake Charles and his extended Dupuis family.

 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elbert and Opal Hebert, Leo Fontenot and Velma Ladd.

 

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 03, 2018 at St. Theodore Catholic Church. Father Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate. Interment services at New Ritchie Cemetery will be a private family gathering. Visitation Wednesday will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service in the church. A rosary service will begin at 11:00 AM.
