Jason Webb

December 18, 1989 — October 29, 2020

Jason Dale Webb, 30, of Moss Buff, Louisiana, ran into the arms of his loving Savior at sunrise on October 29, 2020. Jason was born on December 18, 1989 in Sulphur, Louisiana to Russell and Katherine Webb. He was a faithful husband, father, son, brother, grandson, uncle, and friend. Jason is a graduate of Sulphur High School 2008 and earned his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice through the Community College of the U.S. Air Force. He then accomplished his goal of obtaining his Bachelor of Science and Masters Degree in Occupational Health, Safety, and Fire through Columbia Southern University.

By nature, Jason was energetic, kind-hearted, and fun-loving. As a boy he enjoyed sports of all kinds but especially loved baseball. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, and all things hands-on. He was also musically inclined and enjoyed playing the guitar, drums, and singing. In his teenage years, Jason showed an extraordinary work ethic and an ingenious spirit. Before he could drive he started a lawn business and hauled his equipment behind his bike with a trailer he built himself. By the age of 16 he was able to buy his very first boat. Jason was an avid McNeese State University supporter and had football season tickets with his Dad.

Jason’s drive led him to honorably serve four years in the United State Air Force and then worked for the U.S. Department of Defense in the capacity of Wing Safety. While serving his country he met the absolute love of his life, Staff Sergeant, Heather Guillory Webb. Kindred in heart and homeland, the two married on December 27, 2010. They filled their home with the joy and laughter of four treasured children.

In everything “Bubba” did he strived to make his parents proud. And what made them most proud was watching him as a husband and father with a family of his own.  A hands-on Dad, he was often found coaching one of his kids’ teams, playing with them in the yard, or holding the baby on his hip.

Jason was a leader and protector of not only his family, but also his community and his country. Most recently he held the title of Safety Coordinator at Firestone, a division of Bridgestone America. In this role his singular mission was the safety of others. At home, he was Vice-President of the neighborhood HOA and an outspoken patriot who always ensured to early vote.  He was constantly lending a helping hand and could fix or figure out anything. Jason loved to cook and entertain friends and family on his patio, including new friends he made through clean-up crews from the recent hurricanes. Jason and Heather were dedicated members of Krewe of Madness. He maintained an active and disciplined life>
His tragic death occurred after he was hit by an impaired driver while jogging with his local CrossFit group.  The family wishes to honor his memory by encouraging others to raise awareness about the consequences of impaired driving so that our community might become a safer place for all.

Those left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife and soul mate, Heather Guillory Webb; four precious children, Tatum, Beaux, Luke, and Waylon of Moss Bluff; parents, Russell and Katherine Webb of Sulphur; sister, Jessica (husband Heath) Stevison and daughter Maci of Lake Charles; Grandfather, Dale Collins of Sulphur, along with numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. He was preceded in death by his Grandmothers, Ruth Morman Collins and Georgia Ray Hoffpauir Atkinson; Grandfather, Thomas Clark Webb Sr.; Uncle, Thomas Clark Webb Jr.; & cousins, Shannon Trahan Fontenot & Scotty Webb.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff (2171 N. Hwy 171) on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at noon. Rev. Juliet Spencer of Henning Memorial United Methodist Church will officiate the service. Burial will follow the service at New Ritchie Cemetery in Moss Bluff. Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff on Wednesday from 4PM until 8PM and again at the funeral home on Thursday from 9AM until noon.
