Jean Butts

Jean Butts, 61, of Lake Charles died at 10:50 AM on Friday, October 29, 2010 in her residence.

Mrs. Butts was born on October 3, 1949 in Lake Charles where she lived all of her life. She was a graduate of LaGrange Senior High School.

She was an expert seamstress with great talent. She also had a great passion for square dancing. She and her husband square danced for 27 years and were members of Bayou Promenaders and Cajun Capers Square Dance Clubs. Mrs. Butts and her husband were also avid campers.

She was well loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. She especially showed extra special love for her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Conrad Butts; three children, Tammy Murchison and husband Danny, Christopher Butts and wife Christy, and Robert Butts; her parents, Joseph and Ella Bult; two brothers, Gerald Bult and wife Patsy and Mitch Bult; and a close family friend, Robert Young all of Lake Charles. She is also survived by the apples of her eye, three grandchildren, David Butts, Tiffany Murchison, and Jessie Butts.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 1, 2010 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Ronnie Estes will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue on Monday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
