Jean Frances Craddock, 82, of Safety Harbor, FL, passed away on April 2, 2014. Jean moved to Palm Harbor, FL, in 2004 from Covington, LA, after retiring from a career as a social worker for the state of Louisiana in child services in 1999. She had also worked as a realtor in North Carolina and once owned a Christmas tree farm in Mississippi. She earned a Masters Degree at LSU. She enjoyed horse racing, card games, slot machines, sailing, and being with friends and family. Jean was a devout Catholic and had been a parishioner and volunteer at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Palm Harbor, FL. Jean is pre-deceased by her two sisters, Eva Claire Marcantel and Sister Claire Eileen Craddock; a brother, Samuel Harris Craddock, Jr.; and parents Samuel, Sr. and Claire Craddock. Survived by her niece, Cherie Gaynor of Clearwater, FL; nephews, David (Virginia) Benada of Lake Charles, LA, and Dan (Joy) Marcantel of Winston Salem, NC; and loving nieces, nephews, and friends. A memorial mass will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 24, 2014, at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. Keith Pellerin will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will begin in the church on Thursday at 1:00 PM until the start of the service. Burial of cremated remains will take place in Graceland Cemetery following mass.
