Jean Reeves Demary

Jean "Jeanie" Reeves Demary, 70, of Lake Charles passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015 in a local hospital. Mrs. DeMary was born on September 19, 1944 in South Carolina and lived most of her life in Lake Charles. She was a graduate of LaGrange High School where she was a Gatorette. She worked countless years as a Career Counselor for Talley & Associates, Inc. During her younger years, she enjoyed soaking up the sun, boating, skiing, swimming with her grandchildren and camping on the river. Mrs. DeMary always loved the outdoors and also enjoyed horticulture and association as a member of the Lake Charles Garden Club. Music and dancing and caring for her animals kept her spirit bright and her love for her family was simply immeasurable. Mrs. DeMary will be most remembered for her kind heart and unconditional love. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Paul DeMary; daughter, Allison Butler and husband Jeff of Lake Charles; five grandchildren, Dyllan, Catlin and Hayden Hosea and Taylor and Elliott Butler, all of Lake Charles; two great grandchildren, Bradyn and Noah Hosea of Lake Charles; one stepson, Christopher Paul DeMary of Natchidoches, LA; three step great-grandchilderen, Christen Marie DeMary, Catie Lee DeMary, Christopher DeMary; one brother, Terry Ray Reeves and wife Carol of Oberlin; two nieces, Deanna Reeves and Bobbie Roberts of Lake Charles; two nephews, Jason and Russ Reeves of Reeves and lifelong friend, Elaine Aquillard of Lake Charles. She was preceded in death by her son, Samuel James "Sammy" Hosea and her parents, Oliver and Doris Peterson Reeves. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 28, 2015 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Glenn Ducharme will officiate. Interment will follow in Creel Memorial Gardens. Visitation Friday will be from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue Saturday from 8:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
