Jeanette Allison Duhon

Jeanette Allison Duhon, 65, of Westlake passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017 in her residence.

 

Mrs. Duhon was born on December 31, 1951 in Lafayette. She was raised in Elton and moved to Westlake 36 years ago. She was a graduate of Katie B. Thomas High School and continued her education at Grambling State University and graduated from McNeese State University with a degree in education. Mrs. Duhon was a teacher in Allen Parish and Calcasieu Parish for many years. She was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God.

 

She will be remembered as being an inspirational, God-fearing woman of strong faith. She was always positive, with a loving spirit who never met a stranger. She will be missed dearly, especially by her grandchildren who she was dedicated to.

 

Those left to cherish her memory are five children, Cory Clophus (Krystal) of Lake Charles, Kevin Clophus of Westlake, Cecil Clophus of San Antonio, TX, Dwayne Clophus of Houston, TX, and Angela Mack of Killeen, TX; her mother, Thelma Allison of Lake Charles; three siblings, Warren Allison (Talita) of New Orleans, Charlesetta Allison of Bossier City, and Andrea Boutte (Robert) of Lake Charles; nine grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Duhon; her father, Jessie Allison; and a brother, Jerome Allison.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 2, 2017 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Gary Evers will officiate. Burial will follow in Perkins Cemetery in Westlake, LA. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.
