Jeanne Marie Miller

November 17, 1922 — April 6, 2018

Jeanne Guilbeau Miller, 95, of Lake Charles died Friday, April 06, 2018 in a local healthcare facility.

Mrs. Miller was born and raised in Sunset, LA. She lived fifteen years in Woodlawn and over sixty years in Lake Charles. She was an avid reader, most often reading a book a day. During her younger years she enjoyed visiting neighbors and sewing. She enjoyed writing poetry, water color and oil painting. She loved traveling in their motor home, camping and traveling extensively throughout the country with her husband. Mrs. Miller will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family and the time she shared with her grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Andre Guilbeau Miller and wife Charlene of Lafayette; three daughters, Jeannette Lowry and husband Earl of Florien, Juanita Trahan and husband James of Moss Bluff and Camille Guidry and husband Dale of Moss Bluff; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Dr. Ben Guilbeau, Jr. and wife Joanna of Lake Charles and one sister, Alida Martin and husband Butch of Franklin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Ben Joseph Guilbeau and Edma Broussard Guilbeau; husband, Royland Lilburn Miller; son, Royland Lilburn Miller, Jr. and grandson, “Gil” Miller.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 1:00 PM Monday, April 09, 2018 at St. Theodore Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Father Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate. Interment will follow in Pinehill Cemetery. Visitation Monday will be from 12:00 PM until the time of service in the church.

Mrs. Miller’s family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to her caretaker, Kathryn Trahan and the nurses and staff of Landmark Assisted Living for their excellence and care and compassion.
