Jeannett Renae Thomas

     Renae Thomas was born in Lake Charles, La. on October 27, 1967 to Jessie and Kosit Thomas Jr.

     With the blessing of being raised in a loving Christian home, she accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Pasadena Baptist Church in Westlake, La. by Dr. M.L. Thomas. Her love of God continued throughout her life and in every aspect of it. She was active in the Youth Louisiana Home and Foreign Mission.

     She married Barry Thomas and to this union was born one daughter.

     She helped to organize and became a Charter member of the New Shiloh Baptist Church which had its beginning September 2003. She was Sunday School Superintendent, Women Ministry leader and member of the choir.

     She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Reva and Mansfield Norton Sr.; paternal grandparents, Almise and Kosit Thomas Sr.; one brother, Renn Thomas, one sister, Sheila Martin.

     She leaves to cherish her memories, husband, Rev. Barry Thomas; daughter, Jalyn Thomas; parents, Jessie and Kosit Thomas Jr. ; four sisters, Donna Thomas, Texas,; ToLisa Brown, Texas; Kosita Hardy and Lawanna Hardy, California; one brother, Darrin (Darlene) Mayes of New Orleans, La.; four stepchildren, Jamika Thomas, Christopher Thomas, Quinton (Marion) Thomas, Ashley (AL) Bradley; six step grandchildren, Aiden, Khori, Jaya, Logan, Dylan, and Domonic; a long time friend, Bridget Bazile; special aunts, Faye, Marilyn, and Pat Norton and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

     Her funeral will be at 11:00AM Saturday, October 8, 2016 at New Shiloh Baptist Church. Rev. Barry Thomas will officiate. Burial will be in Perkins Cemetery in Westlake, La. under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday 9:00AM-11:00AM at the church.
