Jeannette Marie Yon Boudreaux, 97, of Westlake, LA, died at 4:15 PM on Thursday, May 5, 2022 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Boudreaux was born May 3, 1925 in Blainville Sur Orne, Normandy, France.  She lived in the Normandy, France area during the German occupation of France and later during the Invasion of Normandy, when she met her future husband, Allen John Boudreaux, who was a member of the Allied forces invading France.  They married in 1945 and she came to the United States in 1946.  She worked as a hostess for the Sheraton Chateau Charles for twelve years and the Down Towner for eight years.  Mrs. Boudreaux was a member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church.  She was a member and past president of the Calcasieu International Club.  She loved to cook and bake and would share her cheesecakes and goodies with the Westlake Police Department.  She also enjoyed painting, crocheting, and gardening.  She will always be remembered as a generous lady who never met a stranger; she will be dearly missed.

Mrs. Boudreaux is survived by her son, Allen Boudreaux and fiancée Tina Sonnier of Westlake, LA; daughters, Jacqueline Schendel and husband Dr. Mike Schendel of Cullman, AL and Georgia Newsome and husband Eddie of Westlake; sister, Jacqueline Grenier of France; eight grandchildren; Derek Schendel, Jennifer Coberley, Matthew Newsome, Stephanie Newsome, Johnathan Newsome and wife Celeste, Michael Newsome, Timothy Newsome, and Melanie Duplechain and husband Rhett; great-grandchildren, Logan Schendel, Clint Matteson, and one on-the-way; and her close friends, Jackie Hebert, Nicole Newsome, and Alice LaCasse.

She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-two years, Allen John Boudreaux; parents, Louis and Julia Henriette Yon; sister, Louise Maria Contrepais; infant sister, Pierrette Yon; brothers, Albert Yon and Bernard Yon; and sister-in-law, Gilberte Yon.

Her funeral service will be at 4:00 PM on Monday, May 9, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.  Deacon Fred Reed will officiate.  Cremation with a private interment at Prien Memorial Park will be at a later date.  A gathering of family and friends will be at the funeral home from 2:00 PM until the start of the service.

The family would like to express a special word of thanks to the doctors, nurses and all of the staff at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for the excellent care given.
