Jeffery Allen Potts

Allen was born October 14, 1956 and passed away February 2, 2014 at Memorial Hospital after health issues. He was a graduate of Oakdale High School, but had lived in Sulphur for the last 14 years. Allen had served in the Louisiana National Guard for 16 years as an infantryman and military policeman. He also was employed by the United States Department of Agriculture Forestry Service from 1991 to 1994 for which he received a service award in recognition of his valuable contributions and accomplishments. He and his wife were the former owners/operators of J&J Transport. Some of Allens talents included carpentry, painting, auto mechanic and a green thumb and loved to care for his plants. Jeffery Allen is survived by his mother, Agnes Potts Thibodeaux of Oakdale, LA and his wife of 39 years, Jennifer Potts of Sulphur; one daughter, Jessica Bohler and her husband, Freddy; son, Jonathan Potts and his wife, Ginger all of Sulphur; 9 grandchildren, Kennen, Kenzie, and Kenade Bohler, and Alex, Ashton, Ayden, Aaron, Abrielle and Niayla Potts. He was preceded in death by his father, William Hiram Potts; an older brother, Kenneth Potts and a nephew, Jacob Potts. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 5, 2014 at 1p.m. in Johnson and Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Bishop and Rev. Chuck White officiating. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery in Glenmora under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 from 10 a.m.at the funeral home until time of the service.
