Jeffery Glynn Beard

Jeffery "Jeff" Glynn Beard, 46, of Bell City died at 3:00 PM on Sunday, June 22, 2014 in his residence. Jeff was born on October 31, 1967 in Lake Charles and lived all of his life in the Sweetlake area. He was a graduate of Bell City High School. Jeff owned and operated his own construction company and was a very hard worker with dedication. He will be remembered for being a kind hearted person who was always willing to help others any way possible. Jeff never met a stranger and will be missed by all who were fortunate to have crossed his path. Those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Paula Williams and husband Carroll of Lake Charles; a brother, Bruce Beard and wife Belinda of Sweetlake; 2 nieces and 6 nephews, Jared and Garrett Beard, Eric, Brent, and TC Tradewell, and Jacob, Meredith, and Morgan Williams; as well as his extended family and abundance of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Judith and Ray Beard and a sister, Shelia Beard Tradewell. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 26, 2014 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Monsignor Harry Greig will officiate. Burial will follow in Sweetlake Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Wednesday from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a cursillo rosary being held at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
