Jeffery Scott Deshotel, 67, of Sulphur passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2021, in his residence surrounded by his family and friends
Scotty has been a truck driver for over 40 years, driving local and over-the-road. He most recently had been working for CEI Transport. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cutting grass, watching TV, and drinking coffee with his buddies. Scotty was always putting his family first; he loved spending time with them and always made sure they never went without. He will be remembered for his love of joking around and speaking exactly what was on his mind.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeffery and Virginia Deshotel, and his in-laws, Elias Cormier, Sr. and Jeanette Marie Cormier.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 38 years; Celeste Deshotel; two daughters, Takisha Edwards, and Alisha Dautreuil and husband Nicholas, all of Sulphur; two sons, Robert Deshotel of Carlyss, and Scott Deshotel of Moss Bluff; grandchildren, Caleb Spears, Kalyn Broxson, Caden Edwards, Jimmy Broxson, Jr., Kelcie Broxson, Carter Edwards, and Allie Edwards; 2 great grandchildren, Emmarie Broxson and Ryder Broxson; and his sister, Vicki Neeley.
A funeral service in celebration of Scotty’s life will be held, 2pm, Sunday, November 7, 2021, in Johnson and Robison Funeral Home of Sulphur. Burial will follow at Farquhar Cemetery. Rev. Marcus Wade will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday, 5:30pm to 9pm, and resume Sunday, 9am until time of service at 2pm.
