Jeffrey Louis Treme Sr.

Jeffrey Louis Treme Sr., 61, of DeQuincy, LA passed away after a long battle with health issues on Friday, April 26, 2024, in the comfort of his home.

Mr. Treme was born in Middletown, CT June 30, 1962, to Ferris Treme of Elton, LA and Anna Marie Treme (Wood) of Norwalk, CT.  He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed camping at Holly Beach in Louisiana with his children and his dog Lucy. He worked for over thirty years at Robbinson Construction, LLC. in Lake Charles, LA.  He looked forward to each new day and loved his job throughout his career. Mr. Treme was a man that believed in solace, self-sufficiency, and hard work. He spent the latter years of his life focusing on his property, mechanics, and home improvement opportunities. His greatest accomplishments that he acknowledged were garnered through his children, their lives, and their successes. Mr. Treme was a quiet man that had many individual accomplishments but never drowned the accomplishments of those that were around him. He loved his children, his wife Sherri, his job, and the accomplishment of owning his own land and home. He often spoke of his children, his grandchildren, and the years he spent around the United States learning and living life. He was proud of all his children and mentioned them often during the last few months of his life. Mr. Treme shared that he knew Jesus, that he did believe, and that he was okay with going to meet his creator.

He leaves to honor his memory, his son, Nathanael Treme (Danny), three grandchildren, Edger, Austin & Ava and two great grandchildren, Alyvia & Jiraiya: son, Jeffrey L. Treme II. (Jessica) and three grandchildren, Kaden, Makenzie & Owen; daughter, Merci Treme Moore (Andrew) and two grandchildren, Henry & Thomas; their mother, Heidi Fortier; son, Clint Chaline (Kaye) three grandchildren, Shelby (Sean), Spencer (Stefanie) & Justin (Paige) and three great grandchildren, Grayson, Melody & Adrianna; sister, Donna (Treme) Bischoff (Donald); sister, Lisa (Treme) Monthei (Randy Hicks), brother, Bruce Treme (Pia Locke), sister, Laurie (Treme) Keithan (Ron); and nephews and nieces, James Monthei, Jessica (Monthei) Lacava (Garret), Adeline Lacava, Heather (Treme) Basso (Jon), Emily Treme & Matt Bradbury.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ferris Treme and Anna Marie (Wood) Treme, his wife Sherri (Long) Treme, and his mother in-law Kristen Allen.

A memorial of life will be at 6:00 PM Monday, May 6, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Home, Lake Charles, LA. His Son-in-law Danny Ellyson will officiate. Visitation Monday will be from 5:00 PM until 5:45 PM with services beginning at 6:00 PM.

Honorary pallbearers will be Nathanael Treme, Jeffery L. Treme II., Clint Chaline, David Bulla, Andrew Moore, and Edger Barrera.
