Jeni-Su Lee Lacoste, 70, of Lake Charles, LA passed away Monday, March 7, 2016.
Jeni was born in Baton Rouge, LA and was raised in Ruston, LA until the age of 16 when the family moved to New Orleans.
After completing high school Jeni moved to San Francisco where she worked as a stewardess for Pan American Airlines. At Pan Am, she primarily operated on intercontinental flights, allowing her to see the world and develop a life-long love of traveling. After a few years she returned to New Orleans, graduating from Loyola University with a degree in Psychology. Jeni became involved in the medical field working as a Phlebotomist and later with the LSU Medical Department of Pathology.
In 1978 she moved to Lake Charles with husband Dr. Alan Lacoste, where their daughter, Natasha, was born in 1980. Jeni became very involved in the community volunteering with various organizations including the Lake Charles Symphony, Calcasieu Parish Medical Auxiliary, and other groups. She was also very involved with both de la Famille and The Lake Charles Country Club Mardi Gras krewes.
She leaves to honor her memory her daughter, Natasha Ann Lacoste of New Orleans; two brothers G. Avery Lee Jr (Margaret) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Gregory Lee (Lynne) of Lakewood, CO.
She was preceded in death by her parents G. Avery Lee and Margaret Ann Rader, and her dear friend Carl Hartzman.
Everyone who knew Jeni was not in the least surprised that she fought and beat her cancer and was able to be here for the last 15 years.
