Jennifer Marie Trahan Dupre, 43, of Starks, LA went to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, November 9th, 2022 following a brief illness.

Jennifer was born October 25, 1979 to Eugene and Emma Trahan in Lake Charles. She was graduate of Starks High School, Sowela Technical Community College where she studied Culinary Arts and the University of Florida where she studied Dietary Nutrition. She was passionate about both fields of her study! She worked as a Dietary Manager for DeRidder Retirement and Rehabilitation Center, Westwood Manor Nursing Home and The Care Center of DeQuincy. Jennifer also loved cooking and baking and found joy in designing and creating birthday cakes and wedding cakes for all her friends and family, as well as, applying her talent and love for baking to raise money to benefit others in need. She had a kind, generous heart and was well known for her desire to help others regardless of her own circumstance. She was an active member of Starks First Baptist Church.

Jennifer collected Teddy Bears, admired the beauty of butterflies and most importantly, embraced the love and unity of her family. Amongst her greatest times were gatherings of friends and family spread out across her lawn for a crawfish boil or barbeque.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of twenty six years, Douglas James Dupre of Starks; two children of heart whom she was raising as her own, Travis Lee Pettypool and Lilly Jayde Trahan; three sisters, Belinda Sargent and husband Larry, Kimberly Sample and husband Ken and Amber Trahan; brother, Jonathan Trahan and brother of heart, Evan Hollie; mother-in-law, Connie Pettypool; two sisters-in-law, Monique Wheeler and husband Glynn and Pamela Muth; nieces, Elizabeth Goings and husband Dylan, Amaya Dupre, Brittany Watkins, Makenna Sample, Zoey Sample and Ava Greer; nephews, Ryan Courmier, Michael Watkins, Charles Watkins, Christian Payne, Nelson Thibodeaux, Jakk Greer and Colton Hollie; great nieces, Emmalee Dean, Addilynn Watkins, Aaliyah Watkins and Bryleigh Bellon; great nephews, Nicholas Watkins, Ethan Deville, Rayden Watkins, Elliott Goings, Layton Bellon and Michael Watkins, Jr.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Joseph Trahan and Emma Morris Trahan; grandparents, Alvin Trahan and Ethel Trahan Arabie and James and Viola Morris; brother-in-law, Gerald Courmier; cousin, Erin Leigh Morris, grandfather-in-law, Tanja Dupre and father-in-law Donald Pettypool.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, November 14, 2022 at Starks First Baptist Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Reverend Ron Butler and Reverend Tony Bourque will officiate. Visitation Monday will be from 11:00 AM until the time of service in the church. Interment services will follow in the Miller Cemetery Annex.

Honored pallbearers for services will be Dusty Clifton, Ryan Courmier, Matthew Flick, Colton Hollie, Evan Hollie, Charles Park, Travis Pettypool and Jonathan Trahan.
