Jerome John Scalisi Jr

Jerome John Scalisi, Jr. 82 passed away peacefully on Monday, November 1, 2021, in the comfort of his home.  Jerome was born on January 3, 1939, to Jerome John and Mary Louise Dronett Scalisi in Lake Charles, LA.

He was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles.  He attended Lake Charles High School, and graduated from LaGrange High School in 1957.  He was a 1968 graduate of McNeese State University.  He served his country honorably in the United States Army.  Jerome retired from AT&T as Staff Manager after 31 years of service.  He was a faithful member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven church.  He was an avid McNeese sports fan, and he enjoyed fishing and spending time at his camp on Bundicks Lake.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Jerome J. Scalisi, III (Sandra); his sisters, Mary Seitzler (Danny) of Prairieville, LA, Valeri Scalisi of Natchitoches, LA and Meloney Mitchell (Chris) Longview, TX; and his grandchildren, Jerome J. Scalisi, IV, Samantha Scalisi Doucet (Tim) of Lake Charles and Joseph Scalisi of Lake Charles.

Jerome was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Carolyn Duhon Scalisi; his son, Dennis Neil Scalisi; and his brothers, Victor J. Scalisi and Nathan T. Scalisi.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.  Father Levi Thompson will serve as celebrant.  Burial will follow in Burleson Duhon Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday evening, November 8, 2021 at University Baptist Church, located at 4505 Lake Street, with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM.  Visitation will resume on Tuesday morning at University Baptist Church at 9:00 AM until leaving in procession to Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.
