Jerrie Smith Hopkins

Jerrie Hopkins, 80, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023 in a local care facility.

She was born on September 30, 1942 in Minden, Louisiana to Leon and Verdun Smith. She lived in Westlake for most of her life where she worked as a hairdresser for over 20 years and played piano at her church. She enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her grandchildren. She had a great personality and loved to laugh.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Jamie Schiro (James), Kelly Newlan (Robert), and Frances Schmidt (Ron); grandchildren, Jamie Lee Schiro, Jake Schiro, Scottie McManus (Evan), Jacey Broussard (Alex), Shaylee Newlan, Mickey Brummett, and David Davis; great grandchildren, Easton Schiro, Darcy McManus, and Reagan McManus.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and beloved grandmother, Eloise Edwards.

Private graveside services will be held at Antioch Cemetery in McIntyre, Louisiana under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff.
