Jerry C. Hillebrandt

Jerry C. Hillebrandt, 82, of Lake Charles, LA died at 10:30 PM on Monday, March 19, 2012.

Mr. Hillebrandt was born October 21, 1929 in Lake Charles, LA, where he was a lifelong resident. He worked at Barbe High School and SOWELA TECH as a Mechanics Instructor. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church and a member of the Moose Lodge. Mr. Hillebrandt was also a previous member of the Lake Charles Power Squadron and the Krewe de la Familia. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and gardening and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will always be remembered as a master joke teller.

Mr. Hillebrandt is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Marlene Fontenot Hillebrandt; daughter, Joellen Gregory and husband Bill of Flower Mound, TX; sons, Mike Hillebrandt of Nacogdoches, TX, Doug Hillebrandt of Ragley, LA, and Jeff Hillebrandt of San Antonio, TX; brother, Andrew Hillebrant of Iowa, LA; sisters, June Ward of Lake Charles and Katie Johnson of Fairview, LA; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Amanda Hillebrandt; seven brothers and sisters; and two grandchildren, Mikey and Christa Hillebrandt.

His funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 22, 2012 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Glenn Viau will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
