Jerry David Esiel, 70, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 10:30 Am on Sunday, August 26, 2012 in his residence.
Mr. Esiel was born July 14, 1942 in Crowley, LA and has lived in Lake Charles for most of his life. He served his country in the U.S. Army and worked in the oil field industry for a number of years. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church and served as a past honorary deputy with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Office. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him and will be remembered as the spiritual leader for his family.
Mr. Esiel is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years, Donna Jane Esiel of Lake Charles; daughters, Christy Butts and husband Christopher of Lake Charles, Eva Migues and husband Nathan of Heflin, LA, Lynn Wilkes and Jean Wilkes, both of Georgia; son, Bill Wilkes and wife Genise of Georgia; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Frank James Esiel and sister, Frances Esiel Bertrand.
His funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Wayne Dartez will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
