Jerry Don Romero, Sr.

Jerry Don Romero, Sr., 74, of Lake Charles, LA died at 6:45 PM on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 in a local hospital. Mr. Romero was born February 25, 1939 in Lake Charles, LA, where he was a life resident, living most of his life on East McNeese Street. He worked as a self employed contractor. He loved raising horses, cows and pigs. He enjoyed visiting with others and was always there to help anyone in need. Mr. Romero is survived by his children, Gary Romero, Kimberly Laughlin, Jerry Romero, Jr., Kitty Landry, Monique Romero and Monica Garcille, all of Lake Charles; brother, Clodile Romero, Jr. of Lake Charles; sisters, Marybelle VanWinkle of Lake Charles, Joyce Johnson and Jane Brown, both of Ragley, LA; caregiver, Ebony Fontenot and Heather Chavis; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clodile Romero, Sr. and Lorraine Addison Romero; and nephew and friend, Greg Johnson. His funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Vincent Guidry will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 11:00 AM until the start of the service.
