Jewel D "Trudy" Carlisle, 76, of Kinder, LA, formerly of Moss Bluff died Thursday, July 31, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her loving family as she earned her heavenly reward. Mrs. Carlisle was a lifelong traveler, enjoying trips all throughout Europe and North America. She spent a lifetime enjoying watching her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren rodeo. She loved to play the piano and was a faithful member of First United Pentecostal Church of Lake Charles. Trudy was a talented seamstress, and also enjoyed gardening and bowling. She was a loving mother to her own children and her love spread out further to perhaps hundreds of children who knew her as simply as "Nanny." Mrs. Carlisle is survived by her children, Kim Reeves and husband Brian, Missie Carlisle and husband David Nichols, Dena Fairchild and husband Eddie, Lisa Chaumont, and Buster Carlisle and wife Tara; grandchildren, Shawnya Fontenot and husband Tommy, Tony Reeves, Kayci Carlisle, Jodee Jordan and husband Ricky, Lakin Strickland, and Bailey and Cole Sullivan; and great-grandchildren, Peyton, Kylie, Anna Claire, Colburn, and Steely. Her parents, Guy and Viola Dyess, preceded her in death. Pallbearers for the service will be, David Nichols, Brent Wofford, Gerald Sherrick, Charles Pettifleid, Eddie Fairchild, and James Floyd. Services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 2, 2014 at First Pentecostal Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of service Saturday, August 2, 2014 at First Pentecostal Church. Cremation will be entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home. Rev. Jeffrey Ralston will officiate services.
