Jewell E. Buster Boyd

Jewell E. "Buster" Boyd, 70, of Lake Charles died at 5:00 PM on Monday, August 30, 2010 in his residence.

Mr. Boyd was born in Tyler Town, MS on December 19, 1939. He lived in Lake Charles since 1965. He served in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Boyd retired as a superintendant with the Lake Charles Housing Authority after 35 years of employment.

He was an avid fisherman.

Those left to cherish his memory are his three sons, Robert Boyd and wife Carolyn of Lake Charles, Steven Boyd of Sulphur, and James Boyd of Lake Charles; three sisters, Margie Brown of Tyler Town, MS, Sylvia Baughtman of Tyler Town, MS, and Lois Guilbeau of Jefferson, LA; three grandchildren, Tina, Tressie, and Durl; five great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Boyd; a son, Larry Boyd; and a brother, John "Boobie" Boyd.

Mr. Boyd was cremated under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
