She was a loving wife of fifty-six years to Richard T. Moriarty, who preceded her in death in 2004. After her tenure teaching, Jimmie worked for the Calcasieu Parish School Board for more than twenty years performing professional testing of educators.
An avid bridge player, she played with her group, Pieces of Eight for more than a decade and continued to enjoy the game with friends weekly. She celebrated her 90th birthday in December 2019 with a party surrounded by dozens of her dearest friends and family. Gardening was a lifelong passion, and she enjoyed years as a member of the Lake Charles Garden Club.
Jimmie will be remembered for her kindness, intelligence, graciousness and positivity, always attentive to the needs of others. She was a wonderful hostess, wife, mother and grandmother.
