Jimmie R. Ferguson

Jimmie R. Ferguson, 77, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at his home with his grandchildren holding his hand.

He was born on March 23, 1944 to Jimmie M. and Francis Ferguson in Waco, TX.

He served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force for 24 years, where he met the love of his life, Dorothy Mae Ferguson. He also served honorably in the U.S. Army for two years. Following his military service, he enjoyed a career as an aircraft mechanic with Northrop Gruman. He liked listening to music and fishing at Toledo Bend.

He is survived by his children, Roxanna Leanna, Jimmie L. Ferguson (Elizabeth), and Erik Ferguson (Noreen); grandchildren, Rachael Ferguson, Rayna Ferguson, Jasen Ferguson, Jared Ferguson, Jenna Leanna, Andrina Ferguson, and Sarah Ferguson; and 8 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Mae Ferguson.

A gathering of friends and family will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, March 21, 2022 at University Baptist Church. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.

The family would like to extend special thanks to his grandchildren for their loving care of their grandfather.
