Jimmy Carl Burk

Jimmy Carl Burk, 78 of Gillis, LA went to be the Lord on Monday, February 15, 2021.

He was born November 13, 1942 in Lawton, OK to his parents James and Ruby Burk.

Jimmy was a simple man who lived his life to the fullest, always find time to be the best husband, father and grandfather to his family. He worked hard through out his life to care and be a mentor to his children. He served in the United States Army, receiving an honorable discharge, then worked as a heavy equipment operator and later driving 18-wheelers. He loved to hunt, fish, especially when he became “PePaw” to his grandchildren.

He was welcomed into Heaven by; his parents; a brother, David Howard Burk; a sister, Kathleen Smallwood; and father in-law, David Willis

Those left to cherish his memory are: his wife of 58 years, Helen Willis Burk; two daughters; two sons; eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren; and his mother in-law; as well as extended family.

Gone but never forgotten, cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home with burial services at Dry Creek Cemetery at a later time.
