Jimmy “Jim” has left his earthly world to go be with his heavenly father and Jesus. Jim spent most of his life where he was born and raised in Oklahoma before moving to Louisiana on a job assignment.
During his life journey Jim enlisted into the UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS where he was an Armored Personnel Carrier Operator during the Vietnam War. After his return home from the Marine Corps, he was hired as Draftsman for the Conoco refinery for both Oklahoma and Louisiana. Jim made Louisiana his permanent home in 1993. Jim was a member of the Maplewood Church of Christ for 38 years and was involved in many relief efforts from Angel Food Pantry Ministries and Disaster Relief Programs.
After returning home from the USMC, Jim met the love of his life, Glenda Leora Thomas, who became his wife in August 1970. Jim & Glenda traveled between Oklahoma and Louisiana for his career. Jim & Glenda had a wonderful life, raising two children, Tricia and Cathy.
Jim leaves behind to cherish his name his two daughters; Tricia Duplichan (husband Shannon), Cathy Benoit (husband Mark); 5 grandchildren; Elizabeth Fairchild (husband Cameron), Shaun Thierbach (wife Carah), Hannah Thierbach, Isabella Thierbach, Breanna Benoit; and 5 great grandchildren; Aden Thierbach, Sawyer Thierbach, Leora Fairchild, Rory Fairchild, and Mason Thierbach. Jim also leaves behind a sister, Linda Borgstrom Boyd of Oklahoma, and a brother, Johnny Borgstrom of Oklahoma.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Cole & Faye Borgstrom of Oklahoma, and his wife Glenda.
A Potluck gathering followed by a reminiscing will be held at the Maplewood Church of Christ, 104 Beverly Place, Sulphur, La. on Sunday March 7th, 2021 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. for friends and family
