Jimmy E. Simmons

Jimmy E. Simmons, 69, of Lake Charles, LA died on Monday, June 17, 2013 in a local care facility.

Mr. Simmons was born in Orange, Texas on February 24, 1944 and was a graduate of DeRidder High School. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1964 to 1968 during the Vietnam War. He retired from Vista Corp after thirty years of service. He enjoyed fishing during his free time.

Mr. Simmons is survived by his wife, Janet D. Simmons; children, Shannon Simmons and wife Jessica, Darlyn Mahony, Penny Lyles and husband Terry, and Lisa LeBaron; brothers, Jerry W. Simmons and wife Linda, Bobby Simmons and wife Kathy, and Rex Pitman and wife Paula; sister, Darlene Hare; and grandchildren, Tarrah Rials, Taylor Lyles, Cory LeBaron, Jericca Potter, Shane Potter, and Damon Hoang.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Pitman; father, Jennings Collie Simmons; step-father, Duford Pitman; brother, Doug Pitman; and grandchildren, Kandace Lyles and Justin Rials.

His funeral service will be at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Richard Rials will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens with Navy Honors. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
