Jimmy L. Shackelford

Jimmie Lynn Shackelford, 67, of Lake Charles passed away, Wednesday, August 3, 2011, following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Shackelford was born in Defiance, OH, raised in and educated in Reading, MI. He served the United States Air Force during Vietnam, having retired Master Sergeant following twenty years of service.

Mr. Shackelford enjoyed softball, bowling and wood working. His greatest love was "his three girls".

He leaves to honor his memory, three daughters, Julie Mathis and husband Tim of Panama City, FL, Stacey Oertling and husband Jason and Jamie Pharis and husband Eric, all of Lake Charles and ten grandchildren, Megan, Danielle and Christina Noblit, Kirby, Hannah, Ali, Madison and Emma Oertling and Tucker and Brady Pharis.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hertha LeBlanc Shackelford; his parents, Charles and Beatrice Shackelford and one brother, Ed Shackelford.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM Saturday, August 6, 2011 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Rick McClain will officiate. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation Saturday will be from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM in the funeral home.
